Fun Fact:
In April 1947 the Lorenzo Theater in San Lorenzo, California, opened with a flurry of excitement. Attending guests dressed in the height of fashion to view the opening of "Dark Mirror" starring Olivia DeHaviland. In the 1950's the theater hosted Saturday morning "kiddie matinees". During the summer the Lorenzo Theater gave free Wednesday movie passes to school safety patrols. Costume parties were held for the community on Halloween. From time to time live performances graced the theater's stage. The Lorenzo Theater was the first theater in northern California in which audience members could perform on-stage during screenings of the "Rocky Horror Picture Show". Source: www.savethelorenzo.org |
